KGI's Corporate Sponsors:

"Watch out when you corporatize an educational institution. The traditions of the academy and the public purpose of non-profit education institutions are not the same as the traditions of corporations and what they pursue as their objectives. Who is gonna dominate? . . . It's not a contest."
-Ralph Nader, speaking at Pomona College. Read the full text of Nader's speech.

The Keck Graduate Institute prides itself on its close ties with the bioscience industry. KGI has a "corporate roundtable" and "corporate partners," corporations that take an active role in running KGI and setting its curriculum. "Moving at the speed of business," they proclaim. But who exactly are they training their students to do business with?

Bayer Corporation, which conducted medical experiments in Nazi concentration camps and didn’t apologize until forced to in a 1994 lawsuit.
Clean Up Bayer! "Earlier this year, a Greenpeace investigation showed that Bayer, the German multinational chemicals giant, is contaminating the environment in Brazil with toxic persistent pollutants such as PCBs and heavy metals such as mercury." Send a letter "to Bayer’s CEO demanding the end of incineration and dumping of toxic waste and reminding him that there are better alternative technologies available in the market to destroy contaminated waste."

DuPont, whose toxic factories destroy the environment all over the world. When local citizens resisted such a factory in India, Du Pont responded by calling in the military to fire on unarmed protesters.

Genentech, which has a history of stealing university research.
